Color trends for fall-winter 2009-2010
Though summer is in the pride fashionistas are already asking
questions on what is going to be trendy in the next, cooler
season. I’m here to answer those questions and tell you
everything about
fashion trends for
Fall 2009 and Winter 2009 - 2010.
I’d like to start with color trends and then reviews of outfits
and footwear to be in vogue will follow. So, let’s begin.
Since the recession affected our lives strongly the majority
of designers reduced the number of items in their
collections, made them simpler, used cheaper materials
trying to offer the customers something they can afford
buying.
Besides, the downturn influenced the color palette a lot
turning it to a darker side.
Many couturiers used plenty of black and grey trying
to show the general pessimistic mood in their lines.
Some collections were entirely focused on these tones.
Black
has always been popular but this season it is top trendy
since each designer used at least one outfit in black.
Grey
follows black in its popularity in the designer lines for
Fall and Winter 2009-2010. Grey tints are variable and come
in dark pavement hues, earthy-grey tints and light grey
tones.
As a variety of grey we see lots of metallic grey
which is cold but sparkling and looks interesting in
combination with other colors.
To attenuate the darkness and bring some formality into
apparels designers kept using black-and-white
combinations that look gorgeous on women of any age and are
appropriate for any occasion.
Brown
is a neutral color that is always used in clothes no matter
whether designers call it trendy or not. It looks chic and
can be matched with lots of other tints. This season
couturiers agreed that brown is perfect and thus they
created perfect items with the help of browns.
When people don’t want to attract too much attention but
still wish to look elegant they opt for garments which come
in pastel colors. This fall and winter these hues are very
popular and you can wear your favorite pieces as often as
you like it.
Gradually we approached to brighter colors and this makes me
more excited as darker tones are so boring.
Red
is definitely liked by designers. It comes in a diversity of
tones, from bright scarlet to rich crimson nuances.
Burgundy
is a luxury tint. It is nobler than red and it’s so sassy
and catchy, so elder women prefer it more than younger
generation.
If you want to stand out but feel red isn’t your color try
orange. It is as vivid and looks interesting. In
designer collections for this season orange is used in soft
hues and all its brightness too. Just find what you like
more and enjoy it!
Purely feminine color – pink – will be very popular
in autumn and again there are deep pinks, close to fuchsia
tone, and lighter ones for delicate natures.
Blue
is great and designers understand it because collections
have loads of blue items: sky-blue, dark blue, electric
blue, ultramarine…
Of course we cannot do without green and its
variations: light-green, almost grey; green of the first
spring grass; bright green; dark green. Such diversity
allows you to make an easy choice.
Many other hues were presented also but those were just
designers’ caprices and we should respect people’s
weaknesses.
So, feel free to choose garments in the colors mentioned
above and you will be as trendy and fashionable as ever!
